A leading psychometric instruments and applied business psychology publisher is seeking an experienced Layout Specialist. Reporting to the Publishing Manager, the person appointed will be responsible for the implementation of layout in accordance with branding and design guidelines through all proofing stages to delivery of the completed product, including the creation of accurate digital files, and for the processing and correction of reprints.

The ideal candidate will be resourceful, an excellent communicator and highly self motivated, and will be able to work effectively and accurately to tight deadlines with the ability to juggle tasks. They will also have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be proactive, take the initiative and work well as part of the in-house team.

Candidates will need to have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and a well organised and flexible approach. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and a knowledge of pre-press – checking pages for bleed, colour separation, trapping and creating print-ready PDFs − is essential, and experience of Word, QuarkXpress, Adobe PDF and PowerPoint are also highly desirable.
