Our client is an independent publisher of commercial illustrated non-fiction based in London, and is currently seeking a talented Production Controller to join its team. The company produces books on a variety of subject matter including history, music and art.

The chosen candidate will work across these books, and some stationery, with key responsibilities including:

• Working with UK and Far Eastern printers, chasing prices, schedules and deliveries and informing the rest of the team of delivery dates
• Liaising with sales, editorial and design departments to ensure the smooth project management of company products
• Assisting with the digital workflow of new projects, such as creating PDF files and checking colour plotters

The successful candidate will have a background in four colour production within book publishing. Potential applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, a sharp eye for detail, a high level of numeracy and the ability to work well under pressure. Knowledge of Quark Xpress and Photoshop is desirable.
