The job: A leading company whose core business is providing the UK and international publishing industry with high quality book production and packaging services is looking for an experienced Production Manager to head up and manage a team providing outsource book production services to a group of small publishers and book packagers. The role will involve agreeing and maintaining customer budgets, preparing and maintaining accurate production costs, managing schedules and quality controls and monitoring sales. Team admin and training is also a key responsibility of the role.

The person: Candidates will need sound technical knowledge of all aspects of conventional book production and familiarity with the demands of 4-colour co-edition book publishing. Previous management experience and ability to plan mange workloads within the team and motivate staff are essential. Candidates will also need knowledge and understanding of book costing, shipping processes and costs and up to date knowledge of safety issues.
