A&C Black is the UK's most respected reference publisher with a 200-year history. We are looking for a new Editor-in-Chief for one of our most prestigious publications, Whitaker's Almanack. The right candidate will have strong organisational and team management skills, an exceptional eye for detail, an exhaustive knowledge of current affairs as well as sound intuitive judgement and analytical power.

You will manage a team of four in-house editors and around 35 external contributors helping you to prepare each annual edition of Whitaker's. You will have complete responsibility for editorial content and the highest standards of factual accuracy. You will also contribute effectively to the development of related products published by Bloomsbury and A&C Black.

Experience of managing a research/editorial team is essential, as is proven ability to achieve deadlines and budgets and maintain quality. You will have first-class written and oral skills and be comfortable working with an XML content management system. You will also appreciate the importance of maintaining accurate records of information sources and work procedures.
