Our client is a prestigious, global STM publisher based in London Waterloo and they are seeking someone with a strong publishing skill set from any book publishing background be it STM, professional, academic or educational.

This exciting role supports the commissioning and development of the UK publishing programme. This is a brand new programme, with the first titles being published in 2008, and in the first instance is based on adaptations of US content to meet the needs of healthcare students in the UK . Content will be delivered both in print and online, depending on the requirements of the market.

In this role you will be part of a small and supportive team, and will commission and develop new products, new editions, as well as supplements and ancillary products. This role has both strategic and hands-on aspects, and is involved in commissioning content as well as project managing that content through to publication. There is a real opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a great new programme within the company’s portfolio, and grow the role with the programme.

The successful candidate will have proven book publishing experience, sound book development and project management skills, and ideally some commissioning expereince. Knowledge of the healthcare publishing area is desirable but not essential – what is essential is the ability to learn a new market quickly.
