A publisher of higher education textbooks is looking to appoint a Psychology Commissioning Editor to join their editorial team based in Maidenhead.

The Commissioning Editor will be responsible for creating a strategy to develop the list and commission new titles in line with this strategy. They will work with authors to develop proposals, manuscripts and related products and ensure the materials are delivered on time. They will also work proactively to seek new revenue sources and to build the profile within the marketplace.

Candidates should be educated to degree level and have experience within a textbook sales environment. Commissioning experience, ideally within a textbook publishing environment, would be preferred. Candidates must have a strong commercial focus and who has the ability to persuade, motivate and negotiate.
