A global company, they employ more than 7,000 people in over 75 locations in 25 countries and can offer excellent working conditions and prospects. This role works on a flagship title in their portfolio, one of the world’s leading independent general medical journals.

Reporting to the Managing Editor, you will edit and deliver primary research articles, review articles, editorial sections, comments sections and more. Editing will be both on-screen and in hard copy, and will be for both print and online versions of the journal. You will also re-write text where necessary and write your own talking points and press releases when necessary. This role is very communicative and you will be working closely within a highly motivated team. As such you will liaise with authors, Production, Senior Editors, and illustrators on a regular basis and will also attend conferences to report on matters of interest.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in biological sciences (at least a BSc 2i) and will have a good knowledge of biological and medical sciences. With proven postgraduate experience in science or publishing, you will have the ability to edit and write to a very high standard. You will also demonstrate strong negotiation and verbal communications skills, and will be passionate and enthusiastic about scientific publishing.
