As the UK’s largest and fastest-growing educational publisher the company provides leading-edge teaching and learning resources under a range of imprints across different subject areas. This Oxford-based organisation is looking to appoint a Managing Editor to work on the development of science educational resources, working across UK and International markets on both print and electronic materials.

The Managing Editor will be responsible for overseeing publications through various stages of the publishing process, in liaison with commissioning, project management, design, and production teams. The role will include working with authors to develop typescripts and managing freelancers.

The ideal candidate will have at least a 2:1 Honours degree in a scientific subject or related experience and possess excellent editorial skills. Good organisational skills, a meticulous eye for detail and the ability to work successfully as part of a team are essential. Experience of overseeing a major project and of working with packagers and project managers would be an advantage. Teaching experience and/or knowledge of the education market would be useful, although not essential.
