We are looking for a highly competent sales manager to manage the sales and marketing mix for a group of journals (currently 18) aimed at STM/Professional audiences.
The role is a crucial one within the organization, with a major input into its strategic positioning and pricing decisions on the balance between print and electronic delivery; we sell to libraries, institutions and companies world-wide, so you will need to be adept at developing sales agencies, contract negotiations and revenue control, in addition to judging the marketing spend between subscription renewals and new customer acquisition.This is a job for a self-starter who can make effective judgments and make things happen – but who can also enthuse colleagues and manage relationships, both within the company and among customers and stake holders. We would expect the successful candidate to have some years’ sales/marketing experience in an STM environment, highly developed commercial antennae, comfort and familiarity with website marketing and direct mail, and a sense of excitement stemming from involvement with a prestigious and well-founded list.Colin Ancliffe at Astron Limited would be very happy to meet with and take forward a discussion, in confidence, if you believe that you can match the above requirements.
