An excellent and challenging opportunity to work as a Contracts Manager for an eminent Oxford based educational publisher on a years contract to cover maternity leave.

Reporting into the Contracts Director your role will be to work as part of a team negotiating with a variety of vendors and partners to create a contractual and licensing framework for the development of often complex educational products with high levels of content and functionality. Management of small but very busy department and team of 3 concerned with the purchase and license of publishing rights and develop and keep under review standard contracts for the acquisition and sale of rights. You will be responsible for budgets, contract management, author contracts, software development, and handling of rights queries, intellectual property rights, due diligence and acquisitions issues.

You will need to have either a law or paralegal background in publishing and/or software industry experience with rights. A thorough knowledge of copyright law, ideally intellectual property law, experience of licensing software and other media and management experience.

Ideally you will be available to start at the beginning of December or thereabouts.
