Scottish books of the year
A quest has begun to find the most riveting reads in this year's Royal Mail Awards for Scottish Children's Books. Nine titles have been shortlisted in three categories, and the winner of Best Gaelic Book of the Year has been announced.
More than 5,000 children have already signed up to read and vote for their favourite of the shortlisted titles. Winning authors are set to scoop £3,000 and the runners-up will receive £500.
