Michael O'Mara goes for Moore
16.01.08 Anna Richardson
Michael O'Mara will publish Roger Moore's autobiography, My Word is My Bond, in the UK this October, having secured UK & Commonwealth and audio rights from Lesley Pollinger at Pollinger Limited.
The publisher describes the book as a "frank, funny and charming" autobiography, "written with all the trademark style, candour, charm and wit he has brought to stage and screen over his long and illustrious career". The book will also include previously unseen photographs from Moore's private collection.
Michael O'Mara said: "I am really thrilled to be publishing Sir Roger’s memoir. The chapters I have read to date remind me of David Niven's The Moon's a Balloon, so packed are they with amusing stories of Roger's time in Hollywood."
My Word is My Bond is to be published in October 2008, priced £18.99 in hardback.
The deal follows earlier news that HarperCollins had snapped up US rights. Rights have also been sold in Norway, Holland and Sweden, and serial rights are also lined up.
