Fourth Estate buys Jason Lewis travel memoir

Fourth Estate has acquired the memoir of Jason Lewis, who last October became the first person  to circumnavigate the world using human power alone. The book, due in September 2008, will detail Lewis's 13-year adventure and will be one of Fourth Estate's lead Christmas titles.

Lewis travelled around the world using a combination of walking, cycling, roller-blading, kayaking, swimming, rowing and pedalling in a specially designed pedalo. His return last year made headlines around the world.

The book will be illustrated with Lewis's own photos of his trip. Lewis is also expecting to make a high profile documentary of his travels, Fourth Estate said.
