28.02.08 Graeme Neill
Egmont UK has appointed Gillian Laskier as its new group sales director. She will join the company on 3rd March and will have responsibility for the 25 strong UK and international sales team. Laskier will report to Rob McMenemy, senior VP and UK managing director.
Laskier most recently launched children's media company, Tree Top Media, where she published more than 20 different children's titles over three years. She previously worked at BBC Worldwide and BBC Magazines.
Her appointment follows her predecessor Douglas Pocock's move to New York to launch Egmont US.
"Over the last four years our children's Books division has grown constantly, through the continued development of our character business and the expansion of our fiction and picture lists," said McMenemy. "Gillian is just the person to continue this impressive growth and help realize our ambitions."
