Arcadia Books is rushing out Andrew Hosken's Ken: The Ups and Downs of Ken Livinstone, following leaks about the Mayor of London's "hidden" children by previous partners--a topic covered by Hosken in the book.
Arcadia will release copies of the book into the shops on 8th April, rather than the planned date of 22nd April, and the publisher has ordered an immediate reprint of 4,000 copies in addition to the initial printing of 5,000, to be distributed by Turnaround.
Livingstone pre-empted the Daily Mail's serialisation of the book, which is likely to feature in the newspaper next week, by admitting to having fathered three more children from previous relationships in addition to the two by current partner Emma Beale.
Hosken has already appeared on ITV's "London Tonight", Radio 4's "Today", where Hosken is a senior reporter, and on Radio Five Live's Victoria Derbyshire programme. Other interviews are to follow and Arcardia is expecting "saturation press coverage" to carry on until the 1st May mayoral elections, with other newspapers also vying for additional serial rights.
