Paddy Ashdown memoirs to Aurum
24.04.08 Alison Flood
Aurum Press has acquired Paddy Ashdown’s autobiography The Winged Chariot, and will publish in spring 2009. The "major" deal was struck by Aurum's Piers Burnett with Michael Sissons at PFD
Burnett said the book would "transcend the genre of political memoirs". He expects a major serial deal on publication, along with "a great deal of media interest" in Ashdown, who will promote the book nationwide.
He added: "Lord Ashdown is not only widely liked and admired across party boundaries, he has also lived an extraordinarily dramatic and adventurous life. This is a terrific story, packed with both political revelations and wonderful anecdotes and told with wit and warmth."
