More speculation on Random House

Peter Olson's fall spurs a mad rush for Random House successors, including "glamorous Brit Gail Rebuck and German import Joerg Pfuhl", reports the New York Observer.

Reporting on reaction to the New York Times report that Peter Olson had fallen out of favour with leadership at RH parent company Bertelsmann, the newspaper finds that "the publishing industry was vocally unsurprised".

It also looks at the main contenders that might be vying for his post, including Rebuck, Pfuhl, and Chip Gibson, "the affable, versatile publisher of the reliably profitable Random House Children’s Book Group".
