Green advice from BA/PA
The BA/PA Environmental Action Group launched a new website advising the book industry on environmental issues at the BA conference today (13th May).
The site, at www.green4books.org.uk, is part of the EAG's call to arms for the trade to reduce its overall carbon emissions by at least 10% during the period covering January 2006 to December 2015.
It offers advice to members on current environmental thinking and best practice, including how to create a policy document; to reduce carbon emissions; to recycle more; to reduce the use of packaging and plastic bags; toreduce energy consumption and transport costs; to reduce returns and gain supply chain efficiencies; and to source environmentally friendly paper and other products.
The site is administered by The Booksellers Association on behalf of the BA/PA EAG.
