Thrilling role for Scott at Sphere
19.05.08 Alison Flood
Nikola Scott is leaving Arrow for Little, Brown, where she is taking up the role of Sphere editorial director for fiction focusing particularly on crime and thrillers. Scott starts at Little, Brown on the 11th August and will report to Sphere publisher David Shelley.
She has been with Arrow for the last five years, most recently as a senior commissioning editor acquiring thrillers, commercial women’s fiction and nonfiction for publication in hardback and paperback. Her authors include Richard Montanari, Sarah Tucker and former Elle fashion editor Grace Saunders.
Scott said: “I love the fantastic energy at Sphere and the genuine passion behind each and every one of their authors. I’m thrilled to become a part of further developing the publishing potential of such a strong commercial fiction list.”
Shelley added: “I couldn’t be more pleased about Nikola joining us. I have watched her career for a while and have been really impressed by the way she publishes. Her appointment is part of Sphere’s strategy for growth, in which Nikola will play a key role.”
