Both top posts at Picador will shortly be vacant following the announcement today that deputy publisher Ursula Doyle is to leave Pan Macmillan on Friday (23rd May) after 12 years with the company.
Acting m.d. Anthony Forbes Watson is to work "very closely" with the remaining Picador team in the absence of either a publisher or deputy publisher.
Forbes Watson paid tribute to the "very important contribution" made by Doyle during her time at Picador, saying she had built a list containing "both prize winners and bestsellers".
Among Doyle's acquisitions during her time at Picador was Alice Sebold’s bestseller The Lovely Bones.
