Persaud plagiarism prompts no changes

Transworld has said it has no plans to make any changes to its publishing for Raj Persaud, after the psychiatrist and broadcaster this week admitted to the General Medical Council to plagiarising work from other academics.
Bantam publishes From the Edge of the Couch, a 2003 title in which Persaud used material from four articles by other writers without correct attribution.
A Transworld spokesperson said: "The book was revised when the issue first came to light and it's not being withdrawn." A new Persaud title, Charm Offensive: Power, Persuasion and Popularity, the Psychology of Social Success, is due from Bantam next January.
