Third group joins Informa bidders
A third equity group has joined the consortium bidding to buy Taylor & Francis' parent Informa. Funds advised by Hellman & Friedman have joined Providence Equity Partners and The Carlyle Group in considering a possible acquisition of Informa.
Last week Informa ended talks with United Business Media over a possible all-share merger. Private equity firms Candover and Cinven, which own academic publisher Springer Science & Business Media, are also said to be considering an approach for the business publishing group.
