NYR in News of the World scoop
31.07.08 Benedicte Page
A six-page summer reading supplement featuring an exclusive Anthony Horowitz story will run in this Sunday's News of the World. The supplement is being produced by the newspaper in partnership with the National Year of Reading.
As well as the Horowitz tale, an Alex Rider story, the supplement will carry Geri Halliwell on the cover and contain an interview with Martina Cole, plus material on what celebrities are reading this summer.
Meanwhile one page will be devoted to this year's Summer Reading Challenge, Team Read, using the case study of a family who are active enthusiasts of the Challenge.
NYR communications manager Victoria Annable said: "It is primarily for parents - in the first few weeks of the summer holidays, we think parents might have a bit of time to read Sunday supplements. But it's also family oriented; early teens do read their parents' copies of the News of the World so we are targeting 11-14-year-olds with the Horowitz story."
