Legend Press plans book club
07.08.08 Catherine Neilan
Legend Press and its recent acquisition Paperbooks Publishing are launching an online book club for readers and authors of the two firms' books. The club, which should be "up and running in a couple of weeks" will allow members to buy books half-price, and take part in discussions on the book of the month through the online forum.
Special editions of books will also to be arranged, along with author input to the group.
Lucy Boguslawski, publishing assistant at Legend, said the aim was to "get readers more interactive with the books". She added: "We have had a lot of interest in this in the past, and a lot of authors have suggested we do something like this." Legend already has a daily blog, and Paperbooks is due to begin writing one shortly. "We work a lot online already," explained Bogulawski.
Tom Chalmers, m.d of Legend Press, added: "We look forward to lively and informed discussion, as well as understanding more about what today's reader wants."
